What would you consider a life-changing moment?

I have to write a narrative essay on a life-changing moment, but I can't think of any thing that important. My writing teacher always says its ok to lie, as long as we make it good.

Any ideas would be appreciated! What would you consider a life-changing moment? There are many things that could be life-changing, it really depends on the person. A near death experience could certainly do it for most people. I read a story last night about a woman who survived a plane crash and went on to completely change her life. That experience made her reorder her priorities and to realize that life is too short not to make the most of what is important to the individual.

Others could be the divorce of parent's, death of a parent, one's own divorce, and so on. A life-changing experience could be less dramatic. My daughter spent several weeks last summer in Belize, working in medical clinics. She came back with a new outlook on her own life.

I hope this gives you some ideas. What would you consider a life-changing moment?um like

(in my case, due to military service...it was the birth of my second child) I will never forget the sound of my sons first cry nor the ride at two moths old behind the ambulance when he was found to have pneumonia.

If you are a male, another life moment is the second you lay your eyes on your approaching bride. What would you consider a life-changing moment? All the above answers are great suggestions.

I would include the changing of your world view. For example, if you no longer believe in god but you once did (or vice versa). If you felt there were no real right and wrong actions in life but now you have a strong grounding in ethics (or vice versa). If you once were very optimistic in life but now are very pessimistic (or vice versa).
