Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe -- introduced me to literary journalism and guru Ken Kesey

Lucky by Alice Sebold *very touching*

The Broken Crown by Michelle Sagara West *I write fantasy and she was a great influence on me*

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood *terrifying in its way*



There are so many other books that have had enormous impacts on me, but those were the first three that came to mind, so there you go. Hope this helps.
