What ever happened to people inventing life changing things?

nowadays people invent stupid shyt to make a quick million %26quot;like a blanket you can wear%26quot; or an ab roller.... what about planes,trains, cars,the internet(the 50s), the tv, the radio,the telephone.... the iphone,facebook, and mfing butt injections are cool but come on there no comparison at alllllll.you would think there would be advancements in toilets,transportation,fuel,energry,frea?everything but it seems things are getting worse and people are dumber and least creative.What ever happened to people inventing life changing things?Internet? IPad? V-Chatting? E-mail?
